Who are the Guardians of the Green?
The Guardians of the Green is a group of dedicated intersectional environmental activists that are echoing environmental and social injustice in Jamaica and the Caribbean. As Guardians, we are continually addressing the complex and interconnected issues of environmental degradation, social inequality, and systemic injustice.
What We Do
The environment unit is central to several SDGs, including Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 15 (Life on Land), which focus on protecting ecosystems, combating climate change, and ensuring sustainable resource use.
Environment
Outreach efforts aim to engage diverse communities and stakeholders in achieving the SDGs, ensuring that no one is left behind. This unit also focus on giving back to the community and those in need.
Outreach
Social justice is a core principle as it seek to reduce inequalities. SDGs (Goal 10), promote gender equality (Goal 5), and ensure access to justice for all (Goal 16). Our work at GOGJA will strive to reduce discrimination and inequality in Jamaica.
